The four tine claw is an old garden tool, which is particularly useful where you need to go deep into the soil to get rid of stubborn weeds like for example ground elder.

The pointed tines ensure that the tool moves effortlessly through the soil and makes in penetrable and airy.

If the ground elder is well established, the claw is used to lift the uppermost roots, and then a garden fork will be needed to really dig up the roots. It is a job that requires patience, and often it will have to be repeated several times throughout the season.

Later in the season, where the weeds have grown quite tall, I recommend that the weed are cut down, as it will otherwise be impossible to get anywhere with the claw.
